Week 13, Part 1

Five businesses that are similar to mine that I chose to study their advertisements are: Vince, Joie, Givenchy, St. Laurent, and Chloe.

All of these brands have very effective marketing and advertising. They use beautiful images that showcase the details and the quality of their piece. Vince has a very cohesive look with their images posted. Joie is less cohesive but posts great style shots of individual models and fashion influencers. Givenchy shoes many aspects of their business and is very artistic in their posts. St. Laurent posts images that look like they could have come straight from a lookbook, which I love.

Each of these brands obviously have a call to action of selling their clothes, but there were also a few other things that I noticed with some. Vince seems to be all about a dreamy, comfortable vibe which sets a tone and attracts a certain customer. Joie wants to get their customers involved in sending in styled outfits. Givenchy has incredible imagery that includes beautiful pictures and video of the process of how the clothes are created, with this focus on detail it helps to communicate the high quality of their pieces.

I feel that social media advertising can be more effective than traditional mostly because it's less expensive, there's potential to reach a huge audience, it's more personal and gives more brand awareness.
